It's been a hell of a birthday month, but Maynard James Keenan's Sessanta celebrations officially came to a close over the weekend. The iconic TOOL singer's A Perfect Circle and Puscifer projects, as well as funk oddballs Primus, wrapped up their three-way, collaborative tour on a chilly night in Forest Hills, New York, and the last bash was fittingly a wrecker.
The Saturday night (May 4th) performance once again found the trio of acts rotating throughout the night, with hits, deep cuts, and the new tunes from their Sessanta E.P.P.P. all thrown into the mix across the 29-song setlist.
This included Keenan going feral with Primus during the latter's "Tommy the Cat," while Les Claypool's Delirium bandmate Sean Lennon stopped by to jam on "Southbound Pachyderm." All three bands said a final goodbye with a multi-musician take on Puscifer's "Grand Canyon" and a ceremonial smashing of Keenan's 60th birthday piñata.
