Buffalo, New York-based hardcore band Every Time I Die have premiered its new song, "Glitches." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!
The band will release its eighth full-length album, 'Low Teens,' on September 23 via Epitaph Records.
'Low Teens' was produced by Will Putney (Acacia Strain, Body Count, Exhumed) and features guests including Deadguy's Tim Singer roaring alongside frontman Keith Buckley on opening track, "Fear and Trembling," and Panic! at the Disco's Brendan Urie providing a melodic counterpoint on "It Remembers."
Supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra—which features Alice In Chains' William DuVall, Mastodon's Brent Hinds and The Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman—has released its new song, "Blood Moon." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!
The band will release its new album, 'Broken Lines,' on September 23 via Party Smasher Inc./ Cooking Vinyl.
When asked about 'Broken Lines,' DuVall shared, "Writing lyrics for these songs was somewhat like writing for film–the mood shifts rapidly and drastically within a song… sometimes the whole scene changes. There were a lot of times where, if you were trying to impose conventional rock songwriting standards on this, you'd be in a whole world of trouble. As unconventional as the creation process was, what brought the core of the band together was simple–mutual admiration and friendship."
Weinman adds, "Brent, William, and myself have all been friends for a long time. Finishing the GTO record with William completes the puzzle. He is a man of diverse talents, and this band gives him the opportunity to spread his wings."
Hinds explains the band name saying, "During the time Mastodon was there for Soundwave, I was at the zoo in Sydney, Australia and was checking out the giraffes. They are amazing animals–one just grabbed a bunch of bananas from my hand with its tongue and peeled them with it as well–by the time the bananas got to its mouth, they were ready to be eaten. I saw Ben who was at Soundwave too and said, 'Man I think I found the name for our band,' and told him the story."
The Devil Wears Prada have premiered its new music video, "Daughter." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!
The song is expected to appear on the band's next studio album, 'Transit Blues,' which will be released this fall via Rise Records.
Earlier, the band announced its longtime drummer Daniel Williams was no longer with the group. They have not announced his replacement yet.
Revolver's own Derek Soto was on hand to catch all the action for Gojira's show on July 14 at Saint Vitus in New York City. Check out the photos he captured for us below–you can also follow him on Twitter and Instagram.
Slayer and Dark Horse Comics have teamed up to deliver a new comic series this winter.
With full participation from the band and taking inspiration from Slayer's recent 'Repentless' music videos, Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse) will pen the three-issue comic series with interior bloodlines drawn by Guiu Vilanova (Twilight Zone, Conan the Avenger, Weird Detective). Glenn Fabry's covers reign in blood while postmortem Eric Powell (The Goon, Hillbilly) will illustrate the variant cover for the first issue.
"I think of the songs I write as stories," Slayer's Kerry King told Rolling Stone. "And if nothing else, they are certainly visual."
As announced in May, Slayer's live undead appearance at Comic-Con will begin on Thursday, July 21, with a special sold-out concert performance at the intimate-capacity House of Blues to a crowd of die-hard fans.
Slayer will appear at Comic-Con for two exclusive signings on Friday, July 22. Nuclear Blast America (booth #501) will host the band from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dark Horse Comics (booth #2615) will host both the band and the comic's creative team for a very limited engagement from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Limited edition posters will be provided.
