GUEST BLOG: LANDMINE MARATHON'S GRACE PERRY

This past week has been a long one. Let's just say that the holiday weekend won the battle.

It was supposed to start off somewhat normal. We are getting back into the routine of rehearsing on a regular basis now that the recording is all done. I get to our practice space to find that nobody’s there. After waiting around I finally get ahold of our bass player, Matt, to find out that he accidentally burned his chest and hands with a large cup of boiling water. He spent the evening at Urgent Care. Needless to say, practice was cancelled and recovery time was needed.

On the Fourth of July, I ended up at a party where the drinking that would soon fuel my own painful experience began.

Someone at this party decided to bring out the glow sticks. (Fireworks are illegal in Arizona because it’s so dry here; I guess glow sticks are the “safe” alternative.) I somehow decided that it would be an excellent idea to break open these glow sticks and decorate some of the hipster kids at the party, which I am sure they just loved! In my beyond-inebriated state I get the great idea to write on my arms with the glow sticks. So the next day I wake up with illegible words, OK, word-like fragments, CUT into my arms. Lesson learned!

Or so you would think…

Saturday night was our guitarist Ryan's bachelor party!!! The awesomeness of the night can be summed up with this rundown:

Me + 16 dudes = the bachelor party
Dudes buying me lap dances
Booze
Boobs
Getting covered in stripper glitter
Smoking a cigar, not knowing how to smoke a cigar (i.e. inhaling cigar and getting sick)
Walking through the neighborhood aimlessly till 5 A.M.
Being hungover the next day at practice!

Congratulations Ryan and Amy !!!
