GUEST BLOG: SKELETONWITCH’S SCOTT “SCUNTY D” HEDRICK

Scott from Skeletonwitch here checking in from our tour with Valient Thorr and Early Man. Thanks to everyone who has come out to the shows and thrashed with us!! It's been a killer tour so far and we appreciate all of the support! Aside from the 105 degree temperatures in Texas that have reduced us to the consistency of potato chips, August is one of our favorite months for touring. Four of the five members of Skeletonwitch have birthdays in August. (For the record, if you would like to send us lavish gifts, address them to everyone but Nate. He was born in February.)





We certainly do not need an excuse to party beyond all recognition, but we'll always take one. On August 5 in New Orleans our bassist, Eric "Harry" Harris, took it pretty far. On this, his 26th birthday, Harry drank like a 17-year-old who busted into his parents' liquor cabinet while they were gone for the weekend! What follows is video evidence that Valient Thorr and Early Man are going to have to conduct some ridiculous fucking business to outdo the ’Witch this time!

Immediately following this video, Skeletonwitch guitarist, Nate "Big Ocean" Garnette, utilized the "fireman's carry" to remove Harry from the venue. The crowd at the bar cheered and screamed "Happy birthday!" as Nate passed by, lugging Harry like a sack of potatoes...a sack of potatoes soaked in a gallon of whiskey. A special “Thank you” goes out to videographer extraordinaire Derek "Mustache D." Ashbaugh and photographer extraordinaire Angela Boatwright who were on hand to document the insanity and help us take care of a severely "partied" Harry! Thanks guys!

Cheers and beers, everyone! Please come out to the shows and bang your heads with us as we finish the last leg of our tour! Just be careful if you're going to buy shots of whiskey for Harry; you may start something that you don't want to finish!!
