'Black Mirror' Season 5: See Chilling Trailers for 3 New Episodes

Dystopian sci-fi anthology previews new batch of horrors

What do Miley Cyrus, Topher Grace and a host of untold horrors have in common? They're all ready to grab you by the guts and squeeze when Netflix series Black Mirror returns for its fifth season with an all-new batch of creepy, futuristic tales in a few weeks.

Three trailers from the acclaimed series dropped today, May 21st, and they give a chilling look into what's to come this time around. In one installment, titled "Rachel, Jack, And Ashley Too," (see above), Cyrus stars as some sort of world-famous inspirational speaker for teen girls whose signature doll lives in the home of her fans and begins to showcase an uncanny sentience as our protagonist begins to suffer a stress-induced meltdown.

Another, called "Striking Vipers" (below), tells the story of a restless husband and father whose friend shows off a new type of dating app that allows him to escape the confines of suburban life, but the trailer's end scene suggests that it isn't the harmless indulgence it first appears.

A final clip, titled "Smithereens," focuses on a ride-sharing service interaction between customer and driver gone painfully wrong, with a tense police standoff in a remote field. That '70s Show star Topher Grace makes a last-minute appearance, but his larger role in the episode remains unknown.

The series "explores a twisted, high-tech near-future where humanity's greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide," according to its official site, and has won six Emmy awards for the brilliant terror of the first four seasons. Season five of Black Mirror will be available for streaming on June 5th via Netflix.
