The 2012 edition is without question the most epic one yet, from the performers and presenters to the nominees and honorees,” states Revolver Editor in Chief Brandon Geist. “And this year, with the GRAMMY Museum launching its tie-in ‘Golden Gods: The History of Heavy Metal’ exhibit, and Xbox LIVE broadcasting the show around the world as it goes down in its entirety, the event will truly encompass the full timeline of heavy music and span the globe. Epic, indeed.”

Until so-called “Metal Awards” shows like this and others start taking their feet out of their mouths and actually start paying respect to the GREATEST metal band of all time ever
~SLAYER~  …then I will continue to voice how aloof and fabricated these so-called awards are!! All of these bands have their own fan base and rightfully so. I’m a fan of many of these bands here. But Heyzus Christo  we’re talking about  “HEAVY-METAL AWARDS” here…I read this nominee list and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor…at least two and a half dozen times!! REALLY??!!! C’mon Revolver and other instruments of power, take advantage in highlighting, dedicating and respecting the awards that you’re giving. instead of making a mockery out of it…

Yngwie malmsteen plays there, but can`t see it on the best guitarist section ?? Agree that he may have lived his best days (80`s/90`s) but all the best guitarist nominees…are you kidding me ?
