burn halo’s james hart remembers avenged sevenfold’s the rev

March 11, 2010

Like you, we here at Revolver are still mourning the loss of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. That’s why we included a poster of him and an obituary in the March/April issue, on stands now. Many of the Rev’s peers wanted to weigh in, too. So over the coming days, we’ll post remembrances by the Rev’s friends, people he looked up to and artists who looked up to him. Burn Halo frontman James Hart shares his thoughts here.

“Jimmy had an innovative style. He was able to blend rock and metal with the best of them. He was very creative, not just as a drummer, but as a songwriter as well. And he had such a warm heart. He never wanted anyone to feel left out or feel second rate. He was a special drummer and a special person. Though his short life came to an end abruptly, he lived a life one can only dream of. I will never forget him.”
