Living Colour Guitarist Vernon Reid Lists His Essential Jazz Records For Metalheads

While Living Colour are best known for making groovy, adventurous funk metal—from their 1988 debut, Vivid, featuring the hit, “Cult of Personality,” to their 2003 comeback album, Collideøscope , to their latest record, 2009’s The Chair in the Doorway—their guitarist Vernon Reid is equally inspired by jazz, from classic bebop to the avant-garde. So we asked him to share some of his prime inspiration…and all that jazz.
