In our never-ending quest to provide you with the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg Series. Every month we'll feature new, rare, and often exclusive music.

This installment comes from fanged metallers Vampires Everywhere!. Their debut, Kiss the Sun Goodbye (Hollywood Waste), comes next Tuesday. They share a brand-new song off the album, "Call Out the Dead," here. Frontman Michael Vampire  fills us in below.

REVOLVER What is this song about?
MICHAEL VAMPIRE This song originated from a nightmare I had about losing control. I have extreme OCD so the idea of not having control warps my mind.

What was the inspiration for "Call Out the Dead"?
I started off writing the chorus to this song which is my metaphor for walking the earth completely spiraling down out of control. Nothing is worse than being a rotting corpse walking the earth! There's nothing sexy about that.

Was it hard to record?
This song was extremely easy to record. The vocals are in a lower range & the basic idea was there before we hit pre production. I really enjoyed singing this song mainly because we don't have many ballad choruses on our other tracks.

What kind of feedback have you gotten on the song so far?
We have got nothing but positive feedback about the song, however I wouldn't mind some bad on top of the good. Freedom of expression and opinion is a right we earn living in this country and I need something to humor me while in the van on the road.

In our never-ending quest to provide you with the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg Series. Throughout the month we'll feature new, rare, and often exclusive music. This installment comes from Arizona metalcore group the Word Alive, who plan on releasing the deluxe edition of their debut, Deceiver (Fearless), on June 6. The deluxe edition will feature a handful of new tracks and remixes, including "2012 (KC Blitz Remix)," which you can check out here. Vocalist Tyler "Telle" Smith fills us in on the song below.

REVOLVER What's "2012" about?
TYLER "TELLE" SMITH
I watched the movie Law Abiding Citizen and knew that the vibe of that song would be perfect for the lyrics. Basically it's my point of view from the main character's perspective. It's pretty violent and intense so I hope it translated right!

What does the title reference?
It's actually a inside joke with the ban. We used to call our old sound guy "2012" because he represented the end of the world to us. But truly I don't believe the world will end in 2012. I think whenever the world does end, it'll be gnarly and more insane than anyone could have predicted.

Which part of it did you come up with first?
The music almost always comes first for us. The inspiration behind the musical side of things, since I just told you about the lyrical side, came from us wanting to write a heavy song with some catchy synth that would be fun to play live. The result has become our most popular song to date!

Was the original version an easy song to record?
It was probably the easiest of the songs on the record but one where we all got to focus on the live energy of the song being translated into the recording. I think because of that it stands out on our CD.

What do you think of the remix? Are you ready to hear the Word Alive in clubs?
I would love to hear this in a club, I think that would be rad. We're currently on a European tour, and after the show the other night, the venue turned into a club but it was playing heavy music and people were dancing. I would love to see that happen in the States. I think this is my favorite remix of the re-release as well.

Sleaze metallers Sister premiere the second single off their new album, Hated (Metal Blade), titled "Bullshit & Backstabbing" below. "It's a song with an 'up yours' mentality and fits us as a band perfectly," the group said in a collective statement. "It's a fast track compared to the title track and we knew right from the start that this was goin' to be one of the band's favorite songs on the album." If you like what you hear, scroll down for a preview of the whole record.

My Morning Jacket have posted a new song from their forthcoming album, Circuital, called "Holdin' on to Black Metal." The song, while decidedly non-metal (note the horn section), is in fact about black metal and how it's "so misunderstood." What do you guys think: Does the song actually make sense or should My Morning Jacket go ahead and give up writing about black metal? Give it a listen and tell us what you think in the comments! (Point of interest: The song was recorded in a church gym.)

morbid+angel_3.jpg

A new Morbid Angel song, titled "ExistoVulgar," has made its way online. The song is taken from the band's forthcoming studio album, Illud Divinum Insanus, which comes out June 7. Illud Divinum Insanus is Morbid Angel's first album of new material since 2003's Heretic, and the first to feature longtime vocalist David Vincent since 1995's Domination. Now, without further ado, new Morbid Angel!

kornthumb_1.jpg

Yesterday, Korn debuted a new song called "Get Up." The track is a collaboration with Los Angeles DJ, Sonny Moore, better known as Skrillex, and is set to appear on a new Korn EP set for a May release. We would like to point out that Revolver actually introduced Korn lead singer Jonathan Davis to Moore back in 2006, when the latter was still the singer of screamo outfit From First to Last, for a "Rebel Meets Rebel" feature in the mag, so we're kind of taking credit (or blame) for this. Check out the song below, and tell us what you think in the comments!

Alt-rock legends Jane's Addiction are offering fans the chance to download a new track from their forthcoming album, The Great Escape Artist. Frontman Perry Farrell debuted the song, "End to the Lies," on Chilean radio last week (stream below), but fans can now download the final mix directly from janesaddiction.com (newsletter sign-up required.)

The Great Escape Artist, which will be the first album of new material from Jane's Addiction since 2003's Strays, will be released sometime this August on Capitol. Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand) is producing and it will feature help from studio bassist David Sitek of TV on the Radio fame.

In our never-ending quest to provide you with the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg Series. Every month we'll feature new, rare, and often exclusive music. This installment comes from Connecticut thrashers Indestructible Noise Command. The song is called "Fist of Fascista," and guitarist Erik Barath fills is in below.

Fist of Fascista

REVOLVER What's this song about?
ERIK BARATH It's about fascism, plain and simple, but at the same time, an abusive love story. Always the same old thing, it starts out all lovie-dovie but ends boot to the throat.

Which part of it did you come up with first?
I wrote the entire song after watching a documentary on [World War II–era Italian dictator Benito] Mussolini. It was amazing how he got his people and the media to love him after giving some security to a weak nation. Kind of reminds one of what is happening today. There is a little Il Duce in most leaders I think.

Was this an easy song to write?
Very easy. I wrote this song in about an hour. I could have written an entire album on this subject alone.

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far?
This seems to be the most popular on the album. Even my little kid goes around the house yelling, "Fascista!"

Capsule1_1.jpg

In our never-ending quest to provide you with the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg Series. Every month we'll feature new, rare, and often exclusive music. This installment comes from the Florida post-hardcore trio Capsule. Their album, No Ghost (Rorschach), comes out on April 12, but they share one track off the album, "Small Caps," here. The band features Eric Hernandez, formerly of Kylesa, and is on tour now. The multiinstrumentalist fills us in below.

Small Caps

REVOLVER What's "Small Caps" about?
HERNANDEZ This song was originally called "All Caps." Then we realized that [hip-hop artist] MF Doom had that same title for a song, hence "Small Caps" became kind of a homage to that. Really the songs about stressing a point; sometimes you have to say something 10 different ways before you can get a point across. This track is really just our way of putting up a billboard that says, "We mean it when we say it and we mean it even more when we play it."

Which part of the song did you come up with first?
This song is really a pivotal point for the record; it was one of the first songs written where we really got a sense of where the record would go. The music came first in the form of a few demos. The lyrics were the last thing to go on it. We really wanted the vocals to compliment the music and take the song to another place, which was an inspiration for the rest of the songs on the album.

Was this an easy song to write?
This music was mostly written by Colin [Smith, guitars/drums/vocals] and Ryan [Haft, guitars/bass/vocals], with Colin drumming on the first demos. When we entered the studio, that's when I started to mess with the vocals. We never think of the writing process as easy or hard, we just love doing it. We'd write music forever if we didn't have to have a finished product at some point and hit the road.

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far?

The most feedback we've gotten so far from this song—keeping in mind we've only been playing it live without the album released yet—is mostly, "Holy shit, is that a new song? Sick!"

What did you get out of working with Jon Nuñez of Torche, who coproduced the album?

Jon Nuñez is one of our longtime buds, he engineered our last album. We've always had him around as an extra set of ears. Him and Ryan work and live together most of the time, so he's always around to hear what we've been working on. It's great having someone around who you can trust to be honest and tell you, "This sounds awesome" or "This sounds like shit."

Livan_1.jpg

In our never-ending quest to provide you with the best music available, we present the Revolver Bootleg Series. Every month we'll feature new, rare, and often exclusive music. This installment comes from the London-bred goth-rock outfit, Livan. Their album, Off the Grid (Pumpkin), comes out on April 12, but they share one track off the album, "Undead," here. Livan is currently on tour with former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy and will tour with Mushroomhead and Hed PE starting in April. The band's frontman, Livan himself, fills us in below.

Undead

REVOLVER What's "Undead" about?
LIVAN Trying to make a living playing music is hard! It is even harder nowadays as the artistic decay has reached an all time peak. People are bombarded daily with a plethora of reality shows that have been ingrained into their soul. Rock and roll in my books died a long time ago and, along with it, many dreamers. Fortunately there are still people out there that come to shows and keep the flame alive. Without trying to be too self indulgent "Undead" is my way of satirizing the modern day television and film industry that turned Bela Lugosi into Twilight and Sydney Schanberg into Jersey Shore.

Which part of it did you come up with first? And what was the inspiration?
"When I'm through with you, there won't be anything left" is the lyric that started this song. Sometimes you daydream about having the podium to speak out and make a difference. It was in one of those moments of boiling frustration that this one came out. I guess it's a release of anger in a somewhat constructive way...hopefully!

Was this an easy song to record?
Yes it was. We recorded the whole EP live in the room after coming back from tour and we were tight and loud! We literally recorded old school, and I really enjoyed the process. Especially "Undead." It was done in one take. You can imagine that when that happens it just feels great!

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far?
It's early still but it seems to be going down really well with Peter [Murphy]'s crowd. Honestly I am such a huge fan of live recordings, I am hoping to record it again live during one of the shows, as it sounds much better than the record.

You're on tour with Peter Murphy. What has his influence been on your music and what does it mean to you to play with him?
Huge! I loved [Murphy's former band] Bauhaus, everything from In the Flat Field to Go Away White. So it's a great honor to play in front of Peter's audience. I'm actually quite impressed with his new work.
