PND is what thrash metal should sound like in 2013,” says Brecht. “Working together with some of the members of Texas based cult band Deadhorse, we have come up with some hard-hitting tunes that span genres and will withstand the test of time. I can’t wait to take the Pasadena Napalm Division machine on the road in support of our first LP on Minus Head Records.”The 13-song self-titled release was recorded at the Music Lab in Austin and features guest vocals from Tony Foresta (Municipal Waste) and Argo (Dead Horse).

Fans attending KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast over the weekend got a surprise when Stone Temple Pilots took the stage unannounced, for a set with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park as lead vocalist.

The crowd went wild as the band performed STP classics like “Sex Type Thing” and “Vasoline” and also debuted a brand new song, “Out of Time”–the recording of which KROQ premiered immediately following the band’s 40-minute set. You can hear the track below.

When Stone Temple Pilots band members, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz began thinking of singers to accompany the new music they were working on, Bennington was at the top of the list. “Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time,” said Dean DeLeo. “We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result.”

“I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me,” explained Bennington. “When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP.”

Today the band has unveiled the first song from Starbound Beast. The track, entitled “I Want to Fuck You to Death,” was cowritten for singer Jill Janus by legendary Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

Huntress vocalist Jill Janus says of the collaboration, “I met Lemmy through my former band Chelsea Girls. We’d play hard-rock and metal covers featuring guest celebrities. Lemmy was already friends with the girls, so he played ‘Ace of Spades’ with us and it blew my mind. We stayed in touch and would meet up at The Rainbow for drinks. So I asked him a few months back over Jack & Cokes if he’d write lyrics for a Huntress song and he said ‘Sure.’ A few weeks later, I met him at the studio during Motörhead recording sessions. Lemmy handed me two two pieces of notebook paper with the lyrics for ‘I Want to Fuck You to Death.’ I am beyond honored. To me, this is a love song. It is the most romantic song I’ve ever heard.”

Lemmy also spoke of the collaboration: “The first time I heard Jill’s voice with Chelsea Girls, it was phenomenal. I wrote these lyrics from her point of view, the Huntress. ‘I Want to Fuck You to Death’ was inspired by her, written for her. I’ve always had a soft spot for her. And a hard spot, too…”

The song is available as an exclusive stream on the Huntress Facebook Page. When visiting the facebook page, clicking the “like” button will enable the audio.

The Black Dahlia Murder will release their new album, Everblack, June 11. In anticipation, the band has partnered with Revolver to stream new song “Raped in Hatred by Vines of Thorn,” an ode to one of frontman Trevor Strnad’s favorite horror movies, Evil Dead.

In an article previously published on Bloody-Disgusting.com, Strnad recalled the impact of the movie: “I remember the first time I saw Evil Dead… It was at my friend’s birthday party in 7th grade. It was recommended by the same older sister that had gotten us all into punk and heavy metal music…so we knew we were in for the real deal. The movie scared the unholy 13-year-old shit out of us… We were terrified. I remember the possessions really affecting me…the way the people would contort and writhe was disturbing. The possessed had that awful way that they sounded when they spoke and howled…pretty insane as well. The vine rape scene was intense… I love the idea of the forest coming alive…so much so that I wrote a song about it many years later.”

Today, RevolverMag.com presents the premiere of Five Finger Death Punch’s new lyric video for “Lift Me Up” (featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest). Be sure to tell us what you think in the comments!

“Lift Me Up” (featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest) is currently the No. 1 rock single at iTunes USA and Canada. You can download it at iTunes right here.

5FDP’s Ivan Moody says: “First and foremost, just to work alongside an icon like Rob Halford, THE Metal God, was absolutely surreal. The song itself was originally written about overcoming everyday obstacles and less than perfect situations. Most of us weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouth, but if life dealt you all the wrong cards, you still have to play. The song’s intent is to inspire; if you play that hand right you might just come out on top anyway.”

Five Finger Death Punch will release their fourth and fifth studio albums in two installments, with The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1 hitting stores July 23 and Volume 2 scheduled for release in the fall.

Today, RevolverMag.com presents the exclusive premiere of Nothing To Be Gained Here, the debut album by NK, a new featuring members of Envy On The Coast and The Dillinger Escape Plan. The album will be released May 21 by Triple Crown Records.

Nothing To Be Gained Here‘s peaks and valleys are strung together by monstrous rhythm section comprised of Michael Sadis on bass and Billy Rymer on drums (Dillinger Escape Plan), plus Ryan Hunter’s (Envy on the Coast) visceral and uninhibited lyrics and vocal style.

On “Confessional,” “Shoulder Gorilla,” “Kings” and “Set a Fire,” the band show their affinity for heavy music, with Rymer adding his signature drumming style. Abrasive guitars and fuzzed-out bass tones match Rymer’s style of playing, while Hunter’s vocals are a fusion of rhythmic aggression and melody. On “Vacation Days” and “Memo,” the band turn down the gain and embraces a warmer, down-tempo, soulful side. With Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, O’Brother) and Hunter taking on production duties, NTBGH is a rhythmic, lyrically dense and dynamic debut album.
