What should be a time of celebration for Slipknot has taken a tragic turn. On Thursday, May 16th, the chart-topping Iowan metal band revealed the details of its highly anticipated sixth album, We Are Not Your Kind, and premiered the LP's lead single "Unsainted." On Friday, the group appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and gave the song — as well as October's standalone single "All Out Life" — their live debuts. But then, yesterday (Saturday, May 18th), Slipknot co-founder Shawn "Clown" Crahan's daughter, Gabrielle, passed away. She was 22 years old. The band shared the news via a poignant post by Crahan.

"It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday - Saturday May 18th, 2019," he wrote. "She was 22 years old. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you. Much love, clown."

Crahan's son Simon also turned to social media to express his confusion, anger and sadness, while his Slipknot bandmates Corey Taylor and Sid Wilson posted messages of grief and support. See those below.
