Hear Joey Jordison Team With Dave Mustaine on High-Octane New Vimic Song

Megadeth frontman shreds ferocious solo on ex-Slipknot drummer's single "Fail Me (My Temple)"

Vimic, the hard-rock outfit led by former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, are putting the finishing touches on their debut full-length, Open Your Omen. The album, which Jordison produced alongside Kato Khandwala (My Chemical Romance), is due out early next year via Universal Music Enterprises/T-Boy. To accompany the announcement of the LP, Jordison and Co. have unveiled its first single: "Fail Me (My Temple)," a high-octane ripper featuring a solo by Megadeth's Dave Mustaine (who also contributed mixing and mastering to the record).

Slipknot parted ways with Jordison, a co-founding member of the band, in 2013, for "personal reasons." The musician kept mum on the specific reasons until last year, when he revealed that he suffered from transverse myelitis, a painful, inflammatory nerve condition that significantly hampered Jordison's drumming, eventually forcing his exit.

"The riffs, lyrics and drums of Open Your Omen will tell you a lot," Jordison says of his recent tumult, detailed at length on the new LP. "We started this record when I was coming out of the acute transverse myelitis condition. It's literally what saved me and helped me get back to where I'm healthier than ever. These guys and this album pushed me to not only relearn how to walk, but how to play the drums again. Open Your Omen is the rebirth of the rest of my life."

Vimic will join Megadeth soon for a run of South American tour dates, followed by a brief European jaunt next month. Find a full list of dates here.
