METALLICA defend bagpipe player from online haters

Thrash lords tell artist covering their songs "you're awesome"
Metallica bagpipes split 1600x900

Metallica have defended a fan of theirs from online bullies who claim to speak for what the thrash lords do and don't approve of. A bagpipe musician named Ally the Piper posted a mashup of her covering several iconic Metallica songs on her woodwind instrument, including "Fade to Black," "One" and "Enter Sandman."

Outside of Korn's Jonathan Davis, there're very few musicians who've dared to blend metal with bagpipes, and Ally's interpretations of those grand Metallica songs are really fun and unique. However, at least a few online haters didn't think so.

In the comment section of her video, one grump chimed in to say, "Bagpipes don't belong in Metallica! James would not approve."

Think again. In response to that comment, Metallica's official social media account replied, "This guy doesn't speak on our behalf. You're awesome."

Naturally, Ally was super stoked to see Metallica themselves jump in and shoot down one of her detractors, so she screenshotted the interaction and shared it on her page.
