Earlier this week, video surfaced of American pop megastar Lizzo singing an a capella rendition of Rammstein's "Du Hast" at a February 20th of hers in Germany. It was a bizarre and unexpected crossover between metal and the mainstream, and last night (February 28th) in Berlin, Lizzo did it again — but even better.
The Grammy-winning singer, known for decidedly un-metal songs like "About Damn Time" and "Truth Hurts," performed a full-band cover of "Du Hast" that began as a faithful rendition of the Neue Deutsche Härte original and eventually flipped into an R&B-esque reinvention, replete with hymnal backup singers and Lizzo's mighty wail.
In between her chanting "Du Hast"'s iconic chorus, the singer was hyping up the crowd ("Ya'll ready to go fucking crazy?") and shaking her behind to the thumping beat — and the crowd fucking loved it. Watch below.
