Former Pig Destroyer member Blake Harrison has died. He was 48. Relapse Records, who released many of the Virginian grindcore group's records, wrote, "Rest in Power Blake Harrison... you were an amazing person and will miss you always."

Harrison was a member of Pig Destroyer from 2006 to 2022, manning samples and noise. Live, he served as the band's backing vocalist and irrepressible hype man. Beyond PxDx, Harrison worked with Daybreak, Triac, Tentacles of God, Zealot RIP and Hatebeak.

Pig Destroyer paid tribute on their Instagram page, writing: "Everyone that knew Blake loved Blake. Light bent around him. You only had to meet him once. We in Pig Destroyer are forever grateful for the time we've been able to share with him.

"Thank you for everything Blake. Thanks for the million memories, laughs, and stories. You are etched into the bedrock of our lives.

"God speed Blake, you rascal. Love you man."

Pig Destroyer released their last album, Head Cage, in 2018 and are scheduled to play a brief, four-date tour in April.
