See Lamb of God's Incendiary New Video for Big Black Cover "Kerosene"

Arson, self-immolation and teenage rebellion

Lamb of God are set to mark the 20th anniversary of their one and only album under their original name, Burn the Priest, this Friday (May 18th) with Legion: XX, a new covers album featuring their takes on songs by the Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Ministry and others. One day ahead of the LP's street date, they've unveiled a music video for their cover of Big Black's "Kerosene"; the clip, directed by Zev Deans (Ghost, Chelsea Wolfe, Portal), takes the song's incendiary theme literally, with ample instances of arson, self-immolation and teenage rebellion. Whether these acts are real or imagined isn't quite clear, but judging from the closing shot, we're willing to bet the protagonist met a crispy end.

Aside from "Kerosene," Lamb of God have previously shared covers of the Accüsed's "Inherit the Earth" and Bad Brains' "I Against I." You can pre-order Legion: XX here.

Revolver's been counting down the days to Legion: XX with a series of track-by-track videos in which Blythe breaks down each cover song on the record. In the clip below, Blythe talks about how he related to the lyrics of "Kerosene" as a teen growing up in rural Virginia with nothing to do, and how, when Lamb of God went to record the track, what seemed like such a simple song on the surface actually gave them a ton of problems.
