UPDATE: Due to "overwhelming demand," a second show has been added at the Banc of California Stadium for May 23rd.
ORIGINAL STORY: After all the bands simultaneously posted the same cryptic image — a lone astronaut floating in the void — to social media on Friday (January 31st), System of a Down, Korn, Faith No More, Helmet and Russian Circles have announced a badass one-off show set — billed as "one night of galactic proportions" — for May 22nd. The eclectic and exciting lineup, which is headlined by SOAD, is set to take the stage at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles in a meeting of the minds that spans chart-topping nu-metal (System and Korn), the left-field alternative metal that inspired it (Faith No More and Helmet), and some cinematic instrumental post-metal (Russian Circles) that manages to make both zero sense and perfect sense among the rest.
Tickets are set to go on sale Friday, February 7th, at 10 a.m. PST via livenation.com. See a very dramatic video ad for the concert, featuring the same unmoored astronaut from the teaser images, below.
