Aerosmith’s Early Material Set to Be Made Available on iTunes
Aerosmith’s recordings between 1973 and 1986 are set to be made available on Apple’s iTunes for the first time, from September 6, according to myfoxdetroit.com. While Aerosmith’s more recent records are currently obtainable on the digital music service, a deal had not yet been agreed for the band’s earlier material.
With frontman Steven Tyler currently in the limelight as one of the judges on American Idol, Aerosmith’s album sales saw a boom of 260 percent in the weeks following Tyler’s stint on the show, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The inking of this new deal is likely to bring in millions of dollars for the band, according to music industry sources.
Records now set to be made available include the 1975 classic Toys in the Attic, featuring “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion.”
