Anchored Premiere New NSFW Video "Savior," Featuring 'Playboy' Model Angelique Jerome

Anchored Premiere New NSFW Video

Hard rockers Anchored, who toured in 2011 alongside All That Remains, Black Label Society, and Volbeat, among others, are releasing their new album, Listen to This, on January 24. Check out the world premiere of their video for "Savior," which features Playboy model Angelique Jerome, below. Frontman Brandon Narrell fills us in on the song below the video. Let us know what you think of it in the comments.

REVOLVER What is “Savior” about?
BRANDON NARREL
“Savior” is about a double life that is basically good versus evil. I wanted to expose the darker side of sex and drugs and show the damage they could do. In this instance, it’s about a girl that gets into selling herself to support her growing habits. She gets so involved that she doesn’t care about anything else other than the moment and her judgment is clouded. She does however have a “savior” or guardian angel that looks over her and sees what she’s doing to herself and her already broken life. She doesn’t know he’s there, but senses him. “Getting a little bit closer to hell all the time” is a line about a personal hell, not a religious reference. A lot of people have taken the lyrics to be about religion, but they are actually all about your personal demons what ever they may be.

What was your inspiration behind writing it?
I’ve met a lot of people throughout my life that have given up, got into some things that weren’t the best, or slowly slipped through the cracks. I always hated to see that happen to someone because there is good in everyone, so I have tried to come to their aid. I have two daughters of my own and trust me, it’s a scary thought of the day that they get out of the house and into a not so protective world. So when it came time to write “Savior,” I wanted to address the fact that there are people that will try to guard you. It could be a friend, family member, or someone you pass on the street. You never really know who’s watching over you and seeing your dark little secrets.

How did you get connected with Angelique Jerome?
Well, we have been fortunate enough to tour all over and have met a lot of extremely talented people that have opened doors for us. When we were coming up with the concept for the video we loved the idea of Paris being the backdrop. It’s a dark yet elegant city. Angelique is from that area so we made some calls and sent her the treatment. She got onboard right after she read it and was a perfect cast. She’s obviously beautiful but had the right “look” for the concept. She is very talented and not just your typical hot girl. We needed someone that could completely play the part and she did just that to a tee.

What did she have to say about your song?
English is her second language. I wish I knew French! [Laughs] I got some thumbs up from her and from what I heard she loves it. That’s the beauty of music…it crosses all borders and barriers. When they were doing her personal scenes the song was blaring and she was rockin’ out. That made it real cool, in the fact that she dug the music. I think after watching the final video you can really see it in her performance. It was a great experience for all of us.

What kind of feedback have you gotten about this song?
So far everything has been great responses. In this case the video speaks as loud as the song so we are hoping that the masses love it. It’s nice to have more and more people getting behind us and giving us a shot. Big thanks to Revolver for doing the world premiere!! That is a huge honor for us here in the Anchored camp and we hope that the Revolver supporters enjoy!! Cheers!!
