As I Lay Dying Comment on Tim Lambesis’ Arrest in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Sting

As we reported yesterday, As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis was arrested Tuesday at the Barnes & Noble in Oceanside, California, for allegedly hiring someone to kill his estranged wife.

The rest of the band — Jordan Mancino (drums), Phil Sgrosso (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Nick Hipa (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Josh Gilbert (bass, clean vocals) — have officially commented on the news. They posted this note on their website last night:

“To our fans,

“As we post this, the legal process is taking its course and we have no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep you informed as best we can.

“Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation — and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from.

“Thank you for understanding, and as always, for your support of As I Lay Dying.”

Authorities began investigating Lambesis on May 2, after receiving information that he allegedly was trying to get someone to kill his wife. He was booked into the Vista Jail, also in San Diego County, and is scheduled to appear before a judge this afternoon, May 9, in Vista.

It’s a cut and dry case, no wiggle room.
They had a police officer act as an undercover hit man and he admitted to wanting to have his wife killed.
The police arn’t going to sent an undercover cop out to a police sting without an audio or video recorder for evidence, and they wouldn’t arrest him if they didn’t have him 100% asking for the cop to murder his wife.
It’s unfortunate, but it’s over for Tim – he’s fucked.

This is what I have been trying to tell the As I Lay Dying fans who have started the whole “Pray for Tim” trend. I never agreed with all this shit when Randy Blythe was arrested; fans were basically assuming he was innocent before any evidence was presented to prove him innocent or guilty, and I never wanted to be the guy that defended a potentially innocent man just because he is in a band I like. The same applies here and, unlike the Blythe case, there is more evidence going against Tim. In fact, it isn’t going against him more than made it certain that he is going to be found guilty. He spoke of his desire to have his wife killed to an undercover detective; what more evidence do the authorities need? Sorry to say, but Tim is guilty as sin, and he will be correctly charged for his crime.

To be fair, Blythe was correct in his actions. The metal wall/divider type deal at the front of the stage is there for the protection of the band. So when you have some people/person running onto the stage from the crowd, the people on stage are well within their rights to have the person removed, or to throw them off stage themselves. Whereas in this case, Tim actually TRIED to have someone murder his wife on his behalf. Which makes him a fucking cowardly piece of shite.

why not just file for divorce, close that door and move on…… the history “taking people out/murder for hire” these things rarely go according to plan and most likely end up in someone getting caught. Like you Tim……..not smart dude, not smart

Maybe he didn’t get a prenup and didnt wanna lose half his shit? Im obviously not saying what he did was right, but thats really the only reason I can think of as to why someone would try to have their wife killed lol

    • Adam Rose

well to be fair, you don’t hear about the ones that go according to plan

This whole Tim Lambesis thing is pissing me off the more i think about it. AILD were touring asia and had just gotten back monday morning. So he had time to workout, go shopping and contact a hitman? Some NAMELESS guy, who hasnt been brought into testify or anything, in the gym accused Tim and then talked to authorities and in a couple hrs they had time to set up a whole sting operation? no. Apparently Tim gave the “hitman” who was an “undercover cop” photos, gate codes, schedules, cash to do the job? soooo, where is all that tangible proof of it? and a recording of him saying it? dont have any of that in the court hearing? interesting… and his wife who said he emailed her saying he doesnt love her anymore and doesnt believe in God anymore either.. but yet no one has seen that email? bullshit hearsay, this is a set up and absolute garbage
