Hard rockers Chevelle are releasing their new album, Hats Off to the Bull, next Tuesday. Below you can get an exclusive preview of the title track from the record.     My wife and I are both Chevelle fans. She didn’t seem too impressed, but I dig it! Kind of mellow compared to older stuff, not saying that’s a bad thing by the way, but it definitely sounds like Chevelle. I love watching good bands grow and push the envelope like this. Forgive the comparison, but some people lost interest in KoRn over the years as their style changed and grew, while I still listen to all their stuff, same with Chevelle and Tool. Their styles would get stale if they never tried anything new.

    The band is so consistent, and this does not disappoint.  I prefer Face to the Floor, but this one is awesome as well.  Personally I’m suprised that they put out a harder song for a radio hit – pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless.  Keep up the awesome work!

    So far I’m impressed, as always, with the bass licks on the first two songs of this album.  Pete is so awesome at using notes vocally that the listener doesn’t expect.  I heard it again in this song in the verses.  One of the main reasons Chevelle stays fresh is because of a wide variety of vocal melodies, and they vary between instruments as to which takes the catchiest riffs.

    Honestly, the first track I listened to was “Face to the Floor” and I wasn’t fully impressed. It didn’t have enough of your patented eargasming harmonies that I so love. This track however, made up for it. It’s awesome! You guys really need to come play on the East Coast!!!! :(
