Deftones Release Song from Shelved Eros Album, Featuring Chi Cheng, “Smile”

Yesterday, Deftones released a previously unreleased song from the shelved album, Eros. “Smile” is a track that features the band’s late bassist Chi Cheng and was released to commemorate the first anniversary of his death. Check out the track below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Vocalist Chino Moreno has said he was unsure if the band should ever release Eros, the album they were working on with Cheng before a car accident left him in a semi-comatose state in 2008.

Cheng cofounded the Deftones over two decades ago. He contributed to five albums including White Pony, which achieved platinum status and earned the band a Grammy for Best Metal Performance.
