Destruction’s Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer on His Favorite Mötley Crüe Song

To celebrate the careers of Nikki Sixx and Mötley Crüe, Revolver put the badass bassist on the cover of the March/April issue, out now. We also got some musicians to weigh in on their favorite songs by Sixx and the Crüe. Today, Destruction vocalist/bassist Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer fills us in on his favorite Crüe tune.

“Shout at the Devil”

“When Destruction started, we wanted be more extreme than any other band. I guess that’s why it was somehow impressive how consistently the Crüe were working on their poser image but were extreme in another way! ‘Shout at the Devil’ was the anthem of the glam scene at that time. Posers and thrashers hated each other! We could not admit at that time that we liked the track. The Crüe is now such a cult act that I can finally confess: Yes, I always loved that song!”
