Exclusive Album Premiere: Kings Destroy — A Time of Hunting

Today, RevolverMag.com presents the exclusive premiere of A Time of Hunting, the new album by Kings Destroy. You can hear the entire album below.

A Time of Hunting, which will be out May 14, is the second release from War Crime Records, the new label run by Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Minsk, Corrections House) and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Bloodiest, Corrections House).

Kings Destroys’ roots are in the hardcore scene out of NYC/CBGB with bands Killing Time and Uppercut, but the band treads more “doom” ground with Kings Destroy. They’ve gotten a great reception in their short career, with the likes of Decibel, the Obelisk, Brooklyn Vegan and Village Voice giving them high praise:

… “strange and eerie and kind of off the wall stylistically, and it doesn’t really sound like anything else out there…Rarely will I go so far as to call something unique. This album is.” — The Obleisk

… “fueled mainly by Sabbath’s grooves, Sleep’s foggy haze, and Yob’s oppressive thunder.” — Village Voice

… “a literal who’s-who of the New York underground stoner doom scene.” — Decibel

    WRONG.

The person reviewing this has obviously never heard Sabbath, Sleep, or Yob. Kings Destroy is nothing but alt rock and bad tone. I don’t need to hear this again.

just saw these guys live and it sure as hell aint altrock. Its very heavy but not in that dumb numbskull pretend its the 70′s style. great album, great live set.
