Exclusive: ‘American Idol’ Finalist James Durbin Reveals Cover Art of Debut Album

American Idol season 10 finalist James Durbin–who performed on the show with Zakk Wylde and Judas Priest, exhorting viewers to “give metal a chance,” and is featured in the September/October issue of Revolver–is releasing his debut album in November on Wind-up Records. Titled Memories of a Beautiful Disaster and produced by Howard Benson (Papa Roach, Theory of a Deadman, Three Days Grace), the album sees the California-bred rocker working with songwriters like Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith) and James Michael (Sixx:A.M.), as well as Swedish rockers Hardcore Superstar.       I so agree. I really believe that James will pick up a lot of sales from those who might have heard there was a Rock/Metal Guy on Idol, but didn’t really watch the show. The cover, alone, is going to grab people. Can’t wait to hear what is inside!

    Well, I had my JAMES DURBIN’s CDs (yeah, plural) pre-ordered anyway, for the INSIDE – the music and his vocals. But I’m very happy with the cover. Well designed, this faded sepia effect really portraits of “memories” as the title of the CD. Plus JAMES’ photo shows the real grown up JAMES, not that blended version AI used on the “Highlights CD”.

    All anyone has to do is look up James Durbin on youtube, like I did, and watch his Idol performances to see how he couldn’t carry a tune to save his life and screamed blood curdling screams to know that his CD will be purely manufactured, unoriginal, and AUTOTUNED!!! LOL

    Wouldn’t watch American Idol if you paid me but being from the Bay Area I have seen him perform live and he has an incredible rock voice.  Will definitely be checking out his album.

    I am looking forward to te release date.  James is extremely talented and I hope for him that is musical career is a huge success.  Although I love his singing and will purchase any CD he comes out with, I love his performances even more and hope he soon goes on tour…either alone or even as an opener for another group/individual.  CAN’T WAIT to see him live and performing.
