It’s good. But it’s not Disturbed

    • http://www.facebook.com/jaross4021 Jeremy Ross

Sounds a heck of a lot like Disturb’s first album to me.

      • Justin Morgan

Device has a slightly more melodic sound than The Sickness album did, personally this reminds me most of the Believe album in the sense of the strong yet melodic vocals, combined with the driving rhythmic drum beats and guitar.

    • http://www.facebook.com/nick.drumgool Nick Drumgool

thats because it isn’t. no need to compare disturbed to device.

    • Dudalala

Why do you expect a Disturbed sound on a totally different type of band?

    • http://www.facebook.com/Revan619 Jason ‘Kyrone’ Dench

Who cares if it is not Disturbed, if I wanted Disturbed I would keep listening to Disturbed, I like that David has other porjects too because that beast has one sexy voice!

Damn good! It’s not Disturbed, yeah… we all know. This is Device! Again great work from Draiman! Keep rockin!!

    • Spazzz

What I love is that it is NOT Disturbed (my favorite rock of all time). . I doesn’t feel like a do-over. David is moving forward, and I love the sound.

Being mad about Disturbed and David Draiman I am so sad to confess that I’m disappointed for the second time (the first being Vilify). Both songs sound too ordinary, nothing impressive. I thought the Device thing would be a whole new world for David to discover and get super creative but he actually sounds tired and not creative at all. Wish Device best of luck anyway but I surely miss that one David whose voice explodes, bursts, tears, inspires and makes us shiver.

Should have named the new band Distortion instead.

sounds good but ill always be a disturbed one

  • http://www.facebook.com/dsperl Daniel Sperl

Reminds me of the same flavor as Dave’s song on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. Didn’t like this new one at first, but it started to grow on me after about 1:25. Drums and heavy riffs is def. something interesting.

Like this one better than the first single “Vilify”.

this just sounds way to much like old disturbed to me (beileve album). nothing wrong with that but in my mind this is a side project id expect maybe something a little different. this to me sounds like the same wash ,rinse, and repeat David Draiman music we heard with disturbed. i guess what im saying is please deliver something different.

I loved Disturbed until Indestructible. That and Asylum were the weakest thing I’d ever seen in my life. Especially the music videos for Asylum. Absolute hilarious garbage where the director decided to make a political or an eye grabbing controversial moment in music history. Personally, Device seems like it’s all Draiman. Hopefully he learned his lesson with metal fans being a retard on the cookie monster metal subject. And he’s able to start this project off correctly. They have a better sound in my opinion. But Mike on the drums with Disturbed was pretty awesome. So we’ll see how this works out, but I think it could be good for him and for us metal heads.

David it the same that in Disturbed. But this new music rocks in another way. yeah

gunna be great album new single sounds badass vilify now this cant wait to hear the rest

  • http://www.facebook.com/adrian.ganter Adrian Ganter

    Sounds awesome!

  • semiazas844

For me, disturbed had boring music as it was, david made the band.. But this is even more boring musically.. Lame, especially considering it was an opportunity to turn it up a notch.Davids helping trivium, maybe he should take pointers lol. I know its supposed to be more “electronica” driven but that isn’t the sound on these songs.

  • Humanity Must End

I think Vilify was great, but this…kind of lacks a tune except in the chorus. I like it, but…it’s just missing something…

  • Seth

I actually like everything BUT the chorus.

  • StimmyDrums

STOP COMPARING THIS TO DISTURBED!!! IT’S NOT DISTURBED!!! If you want to make comments ABOUT Disturbed, then GO to THAT site and troll to your hearts content! This band is COMPLETELY different! The music as a whole… it’s writing, arrangement, composition, and dynamics are unique to this BEAST known as DEVICE! Personally, I can’t wait for Apr. 9th! OUTSTANDING music!

    • http://twitter.com/JesseRosenbaum Jesse Rosenbaum

Completely different is kind of a stretch I think. It’s different in some elements, but the final sound isn’t a vast change from Disturbed. It’s not bad, it’s just not what most people thought it would be based on what we read.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jason.stimson Jason Stimson Lmt

I’m sorry Jesse, but I don’t agree. I don’t know how far back you go in music, but in the 80’s, Steve Perry from Journey went off on his own. Recorded and released “Oh Sherry”, and was sued by another member of Journey because the song “sounded like Journey”. Just another example that when a singer/vocalist does something with a new band, they’re going to get labeled as being stuck in the old/previous bands sound. Device IS completely different! They’re arrangements and composition are very dissimilar to Disturbed. Listen to the MUSIC, NOT the vocals, and you might hear what I mean. BTW… StimmyDrums is me.

        • http://twitter.com/JesseRosenbaum Jesse Rosenbaum

Point taken. I’ll give it a proper listen and keep your comments in mind. Thanks for the input. The newest track they put on Soundcloud, Penance, is definitive proof that this is different in my opinion.

  • Adam

Awesome!! Def a step above Vilify!! Keep it up!!

  • OpinionHarbinger

    Oh fuck the hell yes

  • http://twitter.com/JesseRosenbaum Jesse Rosenbaum

This is just my opinion, but personally when I hear this it isn’t much of a departure from Disturbed for me. I don’t hear much of the electronica/industrial elements that every one keeps saying this band has. When I first heard about this I was expecting something more akin to VNV Nation meets KMFDM. I do like this song better than Vilify and they aren’t bad songs, but for me, I was hoping for something a bit different. I like David and Geno as artists, but I’ll have to hear the rest of the album. At current it’s an average album for me that I’ll pick up eventually.

  • Cristiano

Keep it up David, you’re the best dude!

  • http://www.redconvoy.com redconvoy

Stop teasing me! I can’t wait for this to come out 😀

  • http://twitter.com/Chaosinflux Tony K.

I really wish they would quit calling Device Industrial. Yes the music is very very good, but it doesn’t rate being in the Industrial category. It isn’t even close to being in the Industrial genre.

  • Svetlana

This is gonna be hot as hell!! Can not wait!

  • Ashley

its not bad, disturbed is way better and i think disturbed needs to get together and do something new!

  • debs
