Exclusive: Fake Figures, Featuring Members of Atreyu, Hotwire, and Scars of Tomorrow, Premiere New EP, They Must Be Destroyed
Southern California band Fake Figures (which features members of Atreyu, Hotwire, and Scars of Tomorrow) will release their new EP, and second release overall, They Must Be Destroyed, on February 11. In anticipation, the group has teamed with Revolver to stream it in its entirety right here right now.
“This EP was an experience for the band to progress into a different realm, to try new things but stay moderately consistent with the musical ideologies formed at its inception,” Fake Figures vocalist Rus Martin says of the EP, which was produced by Beau Burchell (Saosin, The Bronx, Middle Class Rut). “When we brought the demos in, we were challenged by Beau to step a little further away from some of those ideologies and try some novel approaches. This ultimately brought us to accept these provocations and attempt to remold some of things we were comfortable with doing and make it uncomfortable for the sake of the betterment of the recording. When I listen now, after six to eight months of working on this EP, I see/hear the vision of what Beau had in mind and what we originally told him we were after; everything was captured to the design of pre-production. Kind of a first, if you will, in my book.”
