Exclusive: Fozzy Premiere New Single, “Sandpaper,” Featuring Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows

We’re excited today to be able to bring you the exclusive world premiere of the brand new single from Fozzy, “Sandpaper.” Check it out below!

“Sandpaper” is taken from Fozzy’s upcoming new album, Sin and Bones, which is due out August 14 via Century Media Records. Not only does the track feature the vocal prowess of frontman Chris Jericho, but also a guest vocal appearance from none other than Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows.

Fozzy singer Chris Jericho is fresh off his third straight year hosting the Revolver Golden Gods, which took place back in April at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia. The WWE Superstar is featured along with Corey Taylor on one of three commemorative covers of the May/June issue of Revolver, which features the inside scoop on the biggest Golden Gods yet.     This is amazing, very catchy and has a dark, melodic kind of feel. Jericho has changed up his vocals a bit for this one but it works well with the song. Trolls are gonna troll here but this is solid and something refreshing and new for Fozzy. Love the Shadows parts too, they get you fired up for the verses. Well written, well executed! Keep it up Fozzy, might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’m drinking the fuck out of this right now

    So many Haters, and I’m not even sure why, though I’m a devoted WWE fan, I also separate Jericho, from Fozzy. As much as I dislike Jericho in the ring, this song is good. It’s good that there are websites like this though that give some exposure to bands people might not have heard of but. Jericho being in multiple industries is a BIG double edged sword, so there are no favors for Fozzy, they’ve had to earn everything they’ve got

       Leave the growling and all the voice rasping/ whispering / distortion out of it.  Also- the lyics seem very objective.  The solo is awesome but too commercially short.  I liked Rivival, need more melodic and melodic metal type songs….Inside my Head and Dark Passenger snippets on Amazon sound like the two songs I will download.

    This isn’t about the WWE or whatever, it’s about the music. The song reminds me of Grail from Chasing The Grail. The last album was great and I’m sure this will be too. Grail was actually my favorite song along with Pray For Blood, and Let the Madness begin. I’m sure those song types will be on the album too. I’m also hopping for something vintage like Enemy and The Way I Am too! High hopes! I hope Jericho does signings like he did a few years ago! Fozzy has made a Hip-Hop and R&B fan turn to Heavy Metal! Who knew? Support the album you guys!

    I don’t think this is best example of what Fozzy can do- they cover so many genres within their music, often across a single song. They are one of the only bands i’ve listened to that can blend the classic rock of AC/DC and Guns and Roses with the modern radio rock of Alter Bridge and Nickelback (for examples sake). This song doesn’t do Chris’ vocals justice either, he seems to overshadowed (sorry for the pun) by M.Shadows’ immense vocals.

    Love Chris the person, he is a man of many talents but singing is not one of them. When he was on Celebrity Duets, he was the first one voted off. Fozzy’s fanbase exists ALMOST only in Europe.

      Hahaha they might be popular there but tell that to the people who came and saw them in Australia and the people that wanted to see them with other big name artists they’ve toured with in America OTHERWISE THEY WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN INVITED. The reason he was first voted off Celebrity Duets is because he was given a dodgy song that he tried his best with anyway, and there are more politics in those kind of shows than there is talent… it’s all about the ratings. If you appreciated his many talents you would read his book and find this out for yourself.

      Also if they are “ALMOST ONLY BIG IN EUROPE” then why the hell are they attracting a band member to this song that is from America? Avenged have a better eye for talent than you do my dear.

    Hate that intro rap/lyric. Love the chorus, which is what’s making it a grower. Pretty Kiss-y for Fozzy though, and I love the singing. No problem with it except… it actually doesn’t sound like Chris! Good parts all over this. I’ll reserve judgment given how it fits with the rest of it?

        Chris is doing a lot better than other wrestlers could do. The problem with people is that when they look at a Pro wrestler, they can’t look at them like anything else, like a actor (Dwyane Johnson) or a politician (Jesse Ventura). This is a pretty good song, and its good Chris has something to go to after he retires from the ring.

    not a fan of this song, doesn’t mean the rest of the album will be bad and I’m not even calling the song bad it just doesn’t do it for me. i don’t think Jericho’s voice matches well with the mood of the song. then again i didn’t like how his voice was on God Pounds his Nails and now its one of my favorite songs from Grail. Still pumped to hear the rest of the album.

    Ive met Chris J at a Fozzy show and he is one of the nicest people Ive ever met! He really lives rock and roll and clearly if it’s something you ve dreamed of doing and actually love doing it, why not be in a kick ass metal band! They rock! And Im glad he isnt in wrestling as much, its just getting aweful now lol

    His use of psychology, timing and athleticism has made him one of the greatest story-tellers in the ring.
    Fozzy are awesome and give everything when they perform onstage. If you want to feel like part of a show, go and see Fozzy, live. You’ll be left wanting more when you get home!
