    I love this song.

    yep. I can dig it

  • bob

    sounds like him,fanfuckingtastic

This makes the long time HIM fan inside of me really sad. There’s something missing from Ville’s vocals. His voice has changed. I’ve kind of lost faith in the band because of Dark Light and Venus Doom but a part of me was hoping this would be another Razorblade Romance and all would be okay again. This is just one song so…I’m still hoping this album is what they promised; going back to their roots.

    • Llama

the whole album is really poppy sounding, a lot of keyboards, acoustic guitar, there’s only one song on there that has a venus doom sound, the rest sounds really dark light-ish, deep shadows and even some screamworks with a bit of love metal, that about sums it up.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=619100384 Laura Vasic

That does not sound promising. I know what the issue is. It’s Palmer. Every album (with HIM) that he works on, turns out sounding the same. Pop. Pop. Pop. When TT was booted out of the HIM team and then later died (he made every “old” HIM album that we all love), that was the end of that grungy, transfers great to a live show, garage noise, dark vocal sound that we all loved.

Just like my comment below, your opinion of it sums it up for me mostly. Dark Light was good still, but different from the other stuff. I have fond memories of that album, so I’m kind of biased, but nothing beats pre Dark Light era HIM. Dark Light was the soundtrack to my Halo 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on my xbox back in 04′ lol.

    • LP9Star

Agreed… I still kinda like it, but the last two albums have been severely lacking.

Sounds good enough to be HIM. I just can’t help but miss the old HIM though. Razorblade Romance, Love Metal, Greatest Love Songs etc. They’re almost like two different bands. Different, but both good. Dark Light was when things changed. Dark Light was awesome though. I’ve been a fan of them for years, way before they became a Hot Topic phenomenon, though there’s nothing bad about that. I’ve shopped there and bought MANY things for a lot of the bands I love. This is kind of like what happened to my favorite band, The Smashing Pumpkins. The Pumpkins have this unique sound, like HIM, and do hard and soft ballad-like songs, both equally awesome. SP’s early career though was great. Gish, then the amazing Siamese Dream album, Pisces Iscariot, and the best selling double CD of all time, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Those albums are in my opinion, well, perfect. Their later stuff is still good, but in a different way, kind of like post Dark Light era HIM. Fans of HIM should check out The Smashing Pumpkins. Great band from the late 80′s that found their stride in the 90′s.

Check out ‘The Smashing Pumpkins’ ? If you don’t know who they are, you need smashed with a hammer.

    Really nice!

  • http://www.facebook.com/G.Sickels Greg Sickels

I like this song… but I wan the old HIM back. Sorry to say, this will be a “spotify” listen. =/ Don’t think I’d pick this one up. I want old HIM back asap!

  • Jocelyn Rangel

HIM can do no wrong in my book, it sounds different from other albums but thats what makes them even more incredible to me. HIM as a band sounds good doing anything, they have been around so many years, why not change it up a little? They have their diehard fans, like myself, that will stick around no matter what. And I personally love it!

  • Amanda

I personally love it….I have been waiting a loooong time to hear from HIM again. Yes the sound is different, but it wouldn’t be fun to hear the same kind of music from bands. They always change it up, and for those who say it doesn’t sound like the old HIM, you’ll get used to this and like it. I love his music personally for the lyrics and his vocals. Come to Georgia, USA please~ much <3

some would prefer stagnation? art is everchanging .. as are the artisists … would we accept 500 versions of the Mona Lisa?

    • ArtAss

But We have accepted 500 versions of the mona Lisa. That is one of the most over used and abused images in art

Amazing song. I must say it is amazing how far HIM has come. And I see people saying they want another album like Razorblade Romance or something from their early days and I say that’s not right. I like to see a band evolve and try new things. I don’t want the same thing over and over from album to album.

    • http://www.facebook.com/nlv91 Lisa Crosby

finally someone who agrees with me! the “old him” was good but listening to the same sound from album to album would get old very quick no matter how much i love the lyrics or vocals.

  • Patsy

Love it. It’s still HIM. Not early HIM but all bands change their sounds at some point. I loved early Stones but hate from Satanic Majesty. I loved early Beatles but hate from White Album. But eventually you get use to the new sound and love them just the same.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jennie.thomas.359 Jennie Thomas

I’m so happy to hear Ville’s words in a new song!! I’ve played all of their older stuff so much, I know every word, as well as every drum beat!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/William.Herman.Light Paul Sheen

Love this track. I can’t believe how much pessimism from fans I see in these comments. The album sounds great! Develop a premature opinion of an entire album all you like but In the words of a former Metal Hammer journalist and fan of the band Terry Beezer (Lad)

” The new HIM album is really, really good. If you’re a fan, you should be stoked. Wicked mix of everything they’ve done over the years. “.

From the four tracks I’ve heard and the previews of the rest of the songs; that quote is bang on. April 29th cant come early enough for me.

  • moiraesfate

As always, excellent song. Hope you guys head down south in the US this tour.

  • Love it or Leave it

If you like the old HIM then keep listening to the old HIM. No one said you have to like everything every single artist/band does. I am not a fan, but going through the catalog of his music, this is very reminiscent of Love Metal. I hear HIM all throughout this song. Maybe some of you negative Nancy’s should stop complaining just to complain… and leave that to the artists that do it waaaaayyyyy better.

  • Adam

Everyone wants the old HIM back? Remember Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights? That album is far more ‘poppy’ than the likes of Dark Light, Venus Doom, Screamworks, and Tears on Tape (from what I’ve heard so far.)

    • Adam

**Not that it was bad in the least bit. I love every single thing they have ever done, personally. I should have clarified that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/shawn.c.wills Shawn C. Wills

i dont know why people are whining that villes voice has changed. its still HIM & personally think that tears on tape is well worth the wait!

  • Andreii

Valo can sing anything and I will listen to it. Fan for Life.

  • http://www.facebook.com/matthew.bates.7965 Matthew Bates

this isn’t their usual stuff, its darker and heavier sounding and freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIM rocks forever and is still killing loneliness

  • N3V3R SAY DI3-NSD

H.I.M. will always be epic to me no matter what they sound awesome they do different and most albums but they are still a epic band and always will be! – NSD

  • http://www.facebook.com/frank.kowalski.90 Frank Kowalski

Love this band…wish they needed a second guitar player.

  • michael bensing

Ehh. Nothing fantastic. I like older HIM better. Anything from 2008 or before was really good.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ArtistbyAbility Stephanie Henderson

Perfect !!! I love the sound. This band can do it all!!! Waiting impatiently for the first concert.

  • Linda

I personally wish they would tour in the States. I would love to see a concert.

    • http://www.facebook.com/tammera.gruber Tammera Gruber

The song is great and the new Album is going to rock hard!!!!!

  • Tammy Cilino

Reminds me of alot of songs off the “dark Light” album but still love it! Keep up the great work!! :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/Albert10000 Albert Skeletissimo

Ville just has an uncanny ability to put lyrics into music with just the perfect melody to complement every riff. He is my favorite singer.

  • Brittney

To me i think the song “All Lips Go Blue” and the new album will be great, all the HIM albums and songs are great :D <3 Certain fans saying they want HIM's sound back should think back what they're saying because if they do love HIM they should support them no matter what they do. Every sound in every HIM CD is different and its interesting to me. I love this band and i support them no matter what they do. I can understand people have opinions, and if they love a band, like i said they should support the band no matter what. Fans have to realize that a band can't make the same sound over and over again for every album, Every band has to change their sound and try different things

  • Brittney

I like “All Lips Go Blue” and i think the new album will be great, all the HIM albums are great :D <3 thats what i meant in the beginning of my comment :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/fran.yoli.1 Fran Yoli

    I love it!

  • http://www.facebook.com/ashlee.bice.5 Ashlee Bice

I miss the raspyness of his voice. But in the name of health. Down with the smoking and drinking….He still sounds amazing! :)

  • Histarch

LOVE IT!!!! HIM did it again :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/heidi.hendrickson.5 Heidi Hendrickson

I love it!!! I love hearing HIM’s new stuff to see what they did on the new go around! They never fail to bring some AMAZING to the table! Yay I am so excited for the new album!

  • Ra

Not pleased. The lyrics are disappointing. And Ville’s voice doesn’t sound right.

  • J.J.

This sounds exactly like HIM. All the people here debating on the track. It’s sounds exactly like a song HIM would write… This old him – new him…etc.. makes me laugh… they have their own sound that’s unmistakable. Just like Tool or NIN.. you know it’s them when you hear it… This sounded like HIM from the first chord, and that’s great because that’s what I was hoping for! :-D
