GWAR Reveal New Guitarist

It's been less than a year since GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot, a.k.a. Flattus Maximus, died. Today GWAR have announced their new joining member--the long-lost cousin of Flattus, Pustulus Maximus (pictured left), who has a terrible foot condition.

Smoot had played in GWAR since 2002. While touring last year he was found dead by his bandmates. The cause of death was "a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease." GWAR decided to retire Flattus Maximus out of respect where his character went "back to the cosmos from whence he came."

Vocalist Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus, said, "Naturally we were devastated by the passing of Flattus. But we turned that grief into rage and set about the task of finding a new guitar player."

Pustulus will join the "Fate or Chaos" tour with DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and Legacy of Disorder.
