Iron Maiden to Release New Best-Of Compilation

Iron Maiden have announced that EMI will be issuing a their seventh greatest-hits compilation, From Fear to Eternity: The Best Of 1990-2010, in May. As the title suggests, it will cover the last 20 years of Maiden’s history, from No Prayer for the Dying through the band’s latest offering, The Final Frontier, and includes many tracks often ignored on previous compilations.  While there are a few tracks originally recorded with vocalist, Blaze Bayley, From Fear to Eternity features live versions of these tracks sung by Bruce Dickinson.

Maiden guitarists Janick Gers, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith are currently up for the Epiphone Best Guitarist(s) award at the 2011 Golden Gods. Vote for (or against) them here.

Iron Maiden were recently awarded their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance for the song “El Dorado”, from The Final Frontier.
