Megadeth's Gigantour to Feature Motörhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil
Megadeth are relaunching their Gigantour package festival, with fellow heavyweights Motörhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil joining them on the lineup. All three bands were picked personally by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine to be on the bill, with dates tentatively scheduled for late January through early March.
Megadeth will be supporting their upcoming album Th1rt3en, which will be released on November 1.
The Gigantour was started in 2005 as a way for, as Mustaine says, to play with like-minded artists “that play heavy music in a high-energy environment,” with a fan-friendly ticket price. Previous incarnations of the tour, which was last in the U.S. in 2008, have featured the likes of Anthrax, Fear Factory, and Lamb of God.
Lacuna Coil has also been a part of the Gigantour before and their frontwoman Cristina Scabbia indeed appeared on Megadeth's 2007 rerecording of "A Tout le Monde," which you can see the video for below.
