Pierce the Veil Frontman Vic Fuentes Discusses New Song, “King for a Day,” Featuring Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens

Pierce the Veil’s new song, “King for a Day,” in available on iTunes today–you can pick it up at right here. The track featuring guest vocals by Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens. Read below what Pierce the Veil’s frontman Vic Fuentes has to say about the song and the collaboration:

VIC FUENTES This song is about getting pushed past your breaking point. Sometimes I feel like there are just too many things weighing on my mind at once and I can’t control my thoughts or even my body at times. Mike [Fuentes, Pierce the Veil's drummer and Vic's brother] came up with the title and I thought it was a perfect way to describe the song. We wrote the music for this song with my friends Curtis Peoples and Steve Miller in a cabin that we converted into a studio in Big Bear, California. For months, fans had been tweeting at me to do a song with Kellin Quinn from the band Sleeping With Sirens. I had never met him before, but we started talking on Twitter due to our mutual fans. I asked him if he’d be down to do a song together and the rest is history! Big thanks to our boy Kellin for joining forces and making something special with us, and another big thanks to our fans for inspiring the collaboration.

    Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens are two great bands. Vic Fuentes and Kellin’s voice go perfectly together and when I first heard this song, my mouth dropped open. Definitely not disappointed. They should definitely do another song together. <3

    When I heard PTV was coming out with a new album, I was expecting something even lighter sounding than Selfish Machines (based on how SM was lighter, metal wise, than “A Flair For The Dramatic”.), but when I heard King For A Day; I realized how wrong I was. 

    King For A Day, has the lyrical weight that was portrayed in “A Flair For The Dramatic”, but with guitars and bass to match. 

    Long story short; I’ve been with Pierce The Veil since 09′, and I don’t plan on seeing them go away anytime soon. I can’t wait to see them Main Stage this year. c:
