Ronnie James Dio Remembered: Watch His Final Public Appearance and Interview

Metal legend Ronnie James Dio—who fronted Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, Rainbow, and, of course, Dio, among others—passed away four years ago today. His final public appearance turned out to be the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards where he received the Best Vocalist trophy. In remembrance of him, we have posted his acceptance of the award below and below that what became his final interview, with Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor and Sirius-XM personality Jose Mangin, which was conducted backstage at the award show.

After Dio’s Golden Gods appearance and passing, we renamed the Lifetime Achievement Award in his honor. Revolver also interviewed Dio’s wife, Wendy, in our “Fallen Heroes of Hard Rock and Metal” special issue, available here.

So, with the deepest respect, enjoy Dio’s final appearances.
