Slayer’s Dave Lombardo: “I Don’t Like People Talking Shit About Lars”

It’s no secret that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is one of the most polarizing figures in the world of music, but at least one of metal cohorts thinks fans need to lay off.

“Me and Lars we get along great and I don’t like people talking shit about Lars,” said Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo in a new interview with Metal Paths. “They have to stop. There are a lot of fans out there who like to say a lot of bad things about him and he’s a very good friend of mine and I don’t like it.”

Ever since the first Big Four show back in 2010, ties between the four kings of thrash — Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax — have been better than ever, culminating at a massive show at New York’s Yankee Stadium. Damn straight. Lars is alright. I mean, he even poked fun at himself in “Get Him To The Greek”. All I can say to Dave Lombardo is tell these assholes what I say to everyone that talks shit about true music artists; where the fuck are YOUR gold & platinum records?
