Stix Zadinia of Steel Panther Picks His Five Favorite Albums of the Year

Leading up to the end of the year, Revolver has asked some of our favorite artists to pick their Top Albums of 2012 and tell us why each record rules. Here, Stix Zadinia (pictured left), drummer of the glam-metal band Steel Panther, selects his faves.

5. Max Richter, Recomposed by Max Richter
“This is a classical music album. I put it on whenever I hook up with a bitch that graduated from college–which is rare, but I like to be prepared.”

4. Die Antwoord, Ten$ion
“This is just fucking original shit. It’s not metal but it’s creative as fuck. Plus, it rocks.”

3. Big Wreck, Albatross
“It is a fucking killer rock record. If you don’t buy it, you’re a dick.”

2. Tenacious D, Rize of the Phoenix
“If you don’t understand how real the lyrics to ‘The Roadie’ are, you are not a rock fan.”

1. Three Days Grace, Transit of Venus
“Always killer melodies with powerful riffs.”

Have you ever even listened to Big Wreck? Or his solo stuff “Thornley”? Ian Thornley is super talented.Take a listen to “Thornley” & the song “Falling To Pieces”.

I’m Canadian & I can’t believe he put Big Wreck! That is so awesome! Big Wreck is an amazing band & his solo work “Ian Thornley” Ian is the lead singer of both great bands.
