System of a Down Announce North American Tour Dates

System of a Down have scheduled their first North American tour dates since announcing their return back in November.  The shows, which will be the band’s first in more than four years, will hit the following cities:

May 10 – Edmonton, AL – Rexall Place
May 12 – Vancouver, BC – Rogers Arena
May 13 – Seattle, WA – Key Arena
May 15 – Mountain View, CA – Shoreline Amphitheatre
May 18 – Denver, CO – Comfort Dental Amphitheatre
May 19 – Albuquerque, NM – Journal Pavilion
May 22 – Las Vegas, NV – The Pear

The band will be supported on these dates by “Gypsy punk band,” Gogol Bordello.

System went on hiatus in late 2006 after touring behind the previous year’s Mersmerize and Hypnotize, reassuring fans they were not breaking up and would eventually return to action. System of a Down are also currently up for the Eagle Rock Comeback of the Year award at the 2011 Golden Gods Award Show. Vote here!
