Testament Drummer Paul Bostaph Quits Band

Testament frontman Chuck Billy has confirmed that drummer Paul Bostaph has left the band. The former Slayer skinsman is currently suffering from an injury that has prevented him from taking part in the recording of Testament's upcoming record—The Dark Roots of Earth—however, it had been expected that he would return to the band in time to tour.

However, Billy told the Terrorizer magazine in the U.K., "We just found out last week Paul Bostaph is not coming back to the band, he's starting his own new project and doing some things on his own. So we're actually going to be holding a couple of auditions with probably small group of drummers that we chose—we don't want to have a revolving drum stool, we have a new record, we want a permanent drummer."

Fear Factory and Dethklok drummer Gene Hoglan has been filling in for Bostaph during the recording sessions.
