Did the Soft Pink Truth Just Release the Worst Venom Cover of All Time?

The Soft Pink Truth - Drew Daniel by M.C. Schmidt - DrewCorpse w Book OfficeElectronic act The Soft Pink Truth, which is Drew Daniel of Matmos, has released a rather stunning music video for their house/techno cover of Venom’s classic “Black Metal,” from their forthcoming CD, Why Do the Heathen Rage?

Our fact checkers are still crunching numbers, but we’re pretty certain that this might be the worst cover of a black metal song in the entire history of humankind.

Thoughts?

You are correct! This is awful. My only question…is it serious? This is absolutely horrendous and VENOM need to rise and take these fools out! ,,/

    That. Was. Terrible.

Naw, there were parts that were bad, but overall, it is pretty good. Could be improved, with the monotone vocals pitched way down, and the break near the end redone. Besides, nowadays, Venom isn’t that much bette.

EDIT: Actually, I’d love to have the stems to this.

I thought it was a cool idea. I like hearing songs re-imagined sometimes. There’s hundreds of metal covers of metal songs.
