To Speak of Wolves Premiere New Song, “Hivemind”
Metalcore upstarts To Speak of Wolves–who feature Underoath frontman Spencer Chamberlain’s brother Phil on drums–drop their sophomore album, Find Your Worth, Come Home, on May 22. In anticipation of the record, their first with singer Gage Speas, the band is debuting a new song, “Hivemind,” right here right now. Check it out below, read what Speas has to say about the song, and let us know what you think in the comments.
REVOLVER What’s the song about?
GAGE SPEAS The song is about the effect my parents’ divorce had on me. But in the end, you can’t let other people’s mistakes affect you.
When did you guys write the song? What was the inspiration?
We wrote this song last in the studio. We felt that the record needed a fast, short, and chaotic opener.
Was this an easy song to write or record?
Vocally, it was really demanding. After we play this song during our set, I’m dead. [Laughs]
What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far? What sort of reaction do you want to get from the song?
We played this song on our last tour and kids were going crazy. I hope kids can relate to it and sing along and stage dive!
