Tony Iommi and Ian Gillan Release WhoCares Single

WhoCares, the supergroup that re-joins Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, have announced the release of their debut single in North America on July 27 via Eagle Rock. The single features two new tracks, “Out of My Mind” and “Holy Water,” and will raise money for a project to rebuild a music school in Armenia that was destroyed in a 1988 earthquake. The single will also include a music video for “Out of My Mind” and a documentary about Iommi’s involvement in the Armenian charity. Iommi and Gillan haven’t worked together since Sabbath’s 1983 album Born Again. The supergroup includes Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, and HIM guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindstrom. You can check out the music video below.

For almost 66 years old, Ian Gillan sounds outstanding. Tony Iommi is great as always. Brings us back to 1983s Born Again, somewhat.
