Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels Set to Release Debut Album Early 2012
How to Destroy Angels, the project featuring Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig, and frequent collaborator Atticus Ross, will release their debut album early next year, according to Reznor. The record follows on from a six-track EP that the band released last year.
Reznor told Rolling Stone that How to Destroy Angels “became much more rhythmic and not any happier, but it really started to take on its own identity. We were influenced by early [post-punk group] Cabaret Voltaire–it’s very deconstructed rhythmically and more textural.”
The album will reportedly be released on Reznor’s own Null Corporation label.
Having previously won an Academy Award for their soundtrack to The Social Network, Reznor and Ross also helmed the recently-released soundtrack to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which received a Golden Globe nomination earlier this week.
