Van Halen Announce 2012 North American Tour and New Album, ‘A Different Kind of Truth’

Van Halen have revealed details of their 2012 North American tour, as well as confirming that their new album, A Different Kind of Truth, will be released on February 7. The announcement was made during the band’s intimate performance at New York City’s Cafe Wha? last night. You can view pictures from the show here.

The tour kicks off on February 18, running through until June, with the first tickets going on sale as early as January 14. Kool and the Gang will join Van Halen for select dates.

A Different Kind of Truth represents the first album with frontman David Lee Roth since the classic 1984. The first single from the new record, “Tattoo,” as well as its accompanying video will debut on January 10. Album preorders will also begin that day.

Eddie’s son is pretty much the only reason why I WON’T go to this show. It’s time for them to get Michael Anthony back.
