At Revolver, we are bringing this year to a close and making lists like we’re starring in a metal version of High Fidelity. Our January issue of Revolver (on newsstands now) features our Top 20 Albums of the Year. Online, we have posts and polls (like Best Music Videos), as well as a tribute to some musical heroes we lost this year.

In the meantime, we’re asking you to choose 2012′s Song of the Year. We’ve put together a list of the biggest and baddest songs in hard rock and heavy metal below; all you have to do is pick the best. And feel free to vote as many times as you want–until the poll ends on January 1.

this is a pretty sad excuse for a pole, and the three leading songs are all pretty shitty (aside from carry on, it’s not to horrible). the lead singer from black veil brides sounds a lot like chad kroeger from nickel back. i don’t really like A7x, but hey, at least it sounds like metal. the pretty reckless shouldn’t even be on this fucking list, and is by far the worst fucking song on it, it hardly counts as metal and it doesn’t sound even the slightly original. it would be nice to see a talented band like gojira or every time i die win, but i just can’t see it happening.

I love Black Veil Brides and wish they would win.
