It's me again. I asked for advice from you before. Thanks by the way! I'm the one who asked about the threesome my boyfriend wanted to have, but then changed his mind (I'm bisexual, remember?). Well, you get lots of questions, so you probably don’t. I ended my relationship with him—too much drama. If I wanted drama, I'd just date another woman. :)

I just wanted to ask if you thought meeting someone online is a good idea? One of my friends met her boyfriend on there and she thinks I should give it a try, but I don't know if I want to. I have been talking to some cute, cool people online, but what if they turn out to be creeps? I usually date people that I meet at college, so I'm a little concerned of trying it. Would you date someone from online? Should I give it a try? And if I do end up giving it a try, what precautions should I take?

Of course I remember you! And, nope, I am not single. I found me a man who is rocking my world to the fullest. But I totally appreciate the flattery! I figured you would dump that wishy-washy dude who couldn’t decide if he wanted a threesome, so good for you, lady. Sometimes you just have to give that stuff time and it works itself out. The same can be said for dating. You can’t force something good to materialize, even if you are searching for your partner online, you just have to put it out there. In my experience, online dating can be good for a few things. It is great to get yourself out there and date around and get used to telling people that you aren’t into them. It also helps build dating confidence and can be ego gratifying to have men/women chasing you down. It can also lead to some amazing dating debacle stories. I now have a repertoire of some awesome fucked-up dating tales! If you are mellow about the whole dating process and aren’t hunting for the “perfect” man/women, you might make some good pals and/or have some good sex. And who knows, you could end up meeting someone really worthwhile and have a wonderful, threesome-filled, long-term relationship.

As for your question about creeps, they are definitely out there. Just like with any other dating situation you need to be selective and cautious. People who ask to meet you after 11 p.m. for drinks on a first encounter probably just want to bone. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. People who don’t have photos on their profiles are probably married or have some other wacky reason for being discreet. People with semi-nude or totally nude profile pics should just be avoided, as it’s just way too much information too early and totally creepy.

My suggestion is to get yourself on a dating site, see who is hits you up, and reach out to some people you dig. If you decide you want to meet someone, don’t waste time emailing back and forth for ages. When you do meet up, do it in public, and set a time limit. I suggest meeting for coffee or a walk in the park and telling the person that you have to be somewhere at a certain time. This gives you an out if you are getting a bad vibe or are just not into it. Listen to your gut and if you want to leave, then leave. Another smart precaution is to tell someone where you are going and the name of the person you are meeting, just in case.

Now if you interested in meeting potential perverts, hookers, or just people that are too cheap to sign up for Internet dating but want to get off quickly, try out craigslist.org “casual encounters” section. Not only might you meet some creeps and some men up for threesomes, but the postings are also a great read!!
