Killswitch Engage have announced that singer Howard Jones has parted ways with the band. Jones had been in the band for nine years, since replacing current Times of Grace frontman Jesse Leach. He recorded three albums with the band, the last of which was 2009′s self-titled effort.
Killswitch Engage were due to enter the studio shortly to begin writing a new album for a release later this year.
The band’s remaining members–Adam Dutkiewicz, Joel Stroetzel, Mike D’Antonio, and Justin Foley–posted the following statement on their website and Facebook page:
“To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we’ve had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well.
“He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you in the not too distant future that we can all be proud of.”

Shadows Fall have penned a new, multi-album North American, record deal with Razor and Tie. It has also been announced that the band will be entering the studio this week to record their seventh full-length. The record will be the followup to 2009′s Retribution, which was released on Everblack Industries, a label the band created in conjunction with Warner Music’s ILG, Ferret Music, and ChannelZERO Entertainment.
The new album is being produced by Killswitch Engage/Times of Grace guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and is currently slated for a Spring 2012 release. Fans will be able to keep a check on Shadows Fall’s progress in the studio by watching live streams of the band in the midst of their creative process. Ohio metalcore outfit the Devil Wears Prada have made their new album, Dead Throne (Ferret), available for streaming over at www.deadthrone.com. The 13-track record, due for release on September 13, was produced by Killswitch Engage and Times of Grace’s Adam Dutkiewicz. Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz has announced, via Facebook, that the quintet are set to begin work on a follow-up to 2009′s self-titled record. Dutkiewicz commented: “YO! It’s Adam D! We’re about to begin writing our new record. Thanks to all of our fans for waiting so friggin’ patiently… now let’s turn on the ‘riff faucet’ and RAGE.”
In the break between albums, the members of the Massachusetts metallers have kept themselves busy, however. Dutkiewicz has released a debut album with Times of Grace, which also features former Killswitch vocalist Jesse Leach, while bassist Mike D’Antonio has also been working on a new project, Death Ray Vision.
