Craig Gowans of Bleed From Within Picks His Five Favorite Albums of the Year

Leading up to the end of the year, Revolver has asked some of our favorite artists to pick their Top Albums of 2012 and tell us why each record rules. Here, Craig “Goonzi” Gowans (pictured left), guitarist of the melodic death-metal band Bleed From Within, selects his faves.

5. Converge, All We Love We Leave Behind
“A band who, even after 22 years, can still write a genre-defining masterpiece so brutal and relentless.”

4. Deftones, Koi No Yokan
“Having been put into various genres over the years, one thing that has been obvious is that there is no band that sounds like Deftones. Another equally beautiful heavy album that no one could hope to match.”

3. Lamb of God, Resolution
“Lamb of God have been one of our favorite bands from the beginning and they never fail to disappoint. This is yet another incredible album that proves they are still the kings of modern metal.”
