Here, Kyle Gruninger (pictured left), vocalist of the hard-rock band Incura, selects his faves.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>5. <strong>Gossip, <em>A Joyful Noise</em></strong><br />
&#8220;Not only are the vocals amazing and original, but you just can’t help but wanna get up and dance to this record.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Gossip-Joyful-Noise.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41504" title="Gossip-Joyful-Noise" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Gossip-Joyful-Noise-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>4. <strong>Muse, <em>The 2nd Law</em></strong><br />
&#8220;They just keep pushing the music and creativity further and further. This album jumps from pop to rock to symphony. Amazing songwriting. Can’t get away from it.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/muse_2nd_law_album_art_a_s.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41210" title="MUSE_THE 2ND LAW_PACKSHOT.indd" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/muse_2nd_law_album_art_a_s-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>3. <strong>Periphery, <em>Periphery II: This Time It&#8217;s Personal</em></strong><br />
&#8220;Technical, aggressive, heavy, just fucking amazing. Polyrhythms for life!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/peripheryII.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41505" title="peripheryII" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/peripheryII-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>2. <strong>Coheed and Cambria, <em>The Afterman: Ascension</em></strong><br />
&#8220;The vocal range is just stunning. The guitar and voice combo in this band keeps the &#8216;epic&#8217; in me alive.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41506" title="Coheed and Cambria The Afterman" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1. <strong>Lamb of God, <em>Resolution</em></strong><br />
&#8220;After the shit this band has gone through this year&#8230; They still keep putting out huge metal records to get messy with.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lamb-of-God-Resolution.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-41314" title="Lamb-of-God-Resolution" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lamb-of-God-Resolution.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>

Here, Michael Lessard (pictured left), vocalist of the prog-metal band Last Chance to Reason, selects his faves.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>5. <strong>Cattle Decapitation, <em>Monolith of Inhumanity</em></strong><br />
&#8220;The brutality of this album and it&#8217;s ability to leave you feeling unsettled is what makes it of my favorite releases this year.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Cattle-Decapitation-Monolith-of-Inhumanity.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-42202" title="Cattle Decapitation, Monolith of Inhumanity 300" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Cattle-Decapitation-Monolith-of-Inhumanity-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>4. <strong>Coheed and Cambria, <em>The Afterman: Ascension</em></strong><br />
&#8220;Coheed and Cambria are one of my favorite modern rock bands, but I have been waiting for them to find their groove after drummer Josh Eppard left the band. This album marks the return of Eppard and the classic Coheed and Cambria sound.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41506" title="Coheed and Cambria The Afterman" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>3. <strong>The Contortionist, <em>Intrinsic</em></strong><br />
&#8220;I enjoy the direction The Contortionist took with this release. Nerdy lyrics fused with futuristic instrumentation serves as great formula!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/The-Contortionist-Intrinsic300.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-42203" title="The Contortionist, Intrinsic300" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/The-Contortionist-Intrinsic300-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>2. <strong>Brian Eno, <em>LUX</em></strong><br />
&#8220;It has become ritual for me to end my day to the beautiful, soaring soundscapes that Brain has created on this piece of art.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Brian-Eno-LUX.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-42204" title="Brian Eno, LUX" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Brian-Eno-LUX-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1. <strong>Frank Ocean, <em>Channel Orange</em></strong><br />
&#8220;Frank takes such an interesting approach to pop music that I was hooked the first time I ever heard his music. The album has a great mixture of unorthodox sounds and refreshing synth tones that lend themselves nicely to Frank&#8217;s unique voice. Combining the odd vibes with the infectious melodies makes for a collection of songs that I find worth putting on repeat.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Frank-Ocean-Channel-Orange.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-42205" title="Frank Ocean, Channel Orange" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Frank-Ocean-Channel-Orange-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>

Here, Richard Christy (pictured left), drummer of Charred Walls of the Damned, selects his faves.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>5. <strong>Death, <em>Vivus</em></strong><br />
&#8220;This album brings back so many great memories for me. Some of the best times in my life were touring with Chuck and the guys in Death, and I&#8217;m <em>soooo</em> proud of our performance on this album!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Death-Vivus.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41542" title="Death, Vivus" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Death-Vivus-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>4. <strong>Lamb of God, <em>Resolution</em></strong><br />
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been friends with these guys for many years and even got to jam with them at a soundcheck in Canada in 2004. Great guys and an equally great album.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lamb-of-God-Resolution.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-41314" title="Lamb-of-God-Resolution" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lamb-of-God-Resolution.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>3. <strong>Testament,<em> Dark Roots of Earth</em></strong><br />
&#8220;I had the pleasure of jamming with Alex Skolnick at the Death to All show in NYC this year and it was truly an honor. I&#8217;ve been a fan of Testament since the mid &#8217;80s and their new album is amazing!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Testament-album-cover.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-34968" title="Testament album cover" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Testament-album-cover-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>2. <strong>Cannibal Corpse, <em>Torture</em></strong><br />
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been a Cannibal Corpse fan since I lived in Kansas in the early 90s, and they&#8217;re like the AC/DC of heavy metal&#8211;they stay true to their sound and their albums always rule.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/CannibalCorpseTorture.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41511" title="CannibalCorpseTorture" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/CannibalCorpseTorture-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1. <strong>Coheed and Cambria, <em>The Afterman: Ascension</em></strong><br />
&#8220;Pretty much my favorite band ever. This album is a masterpiece and I&#8217;ve listened to it at least once every day since it came out!&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-41506" title="Coheed and Cambria The Afterman" src="http://www.revolvermag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Coheed-Afterman-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p>
