Three songs from the new album, which is available on iTunes, are being streamed on YouTube. They are “Hell to Pay,” “All the Time in the World” and the very recently posted “Vincent Price,” which you can check out below.

Be sure to tell us what you think of the song in the comments!

Also be sure take our poll and vote for the best Deep Purple song of all time! You can find our Deep Purple poll right here.

While you’re at it, take a look back at some vintage Deep Purple in this 22-minute video from 1973, when the band performed in New York back when Ritchie Blackmore manned the six-string helm.

That spot is now occupied by Steve Morse, who can be heard on “Vincent Price.” His guitar solo begins around the 2:50 mark.

With Deep Purple’s new studio album, Now What?!, waiting in the wings for its April 30 North American release, we thought we’d glance back at the classic Mark II lineup of the band — the legendary Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Gillan (vocals), Ian Paice (drums) and Jon Lord (keyboards) — tearing it up, live in New York in 1973.

]

The video’s title calls it a “Full Concert.” And while that’s not quite accurate, the clip does represent 22-plus minutes of Deep Purple at the top of their game.

They plow through “Strange Kind of Woman,” “Smoke on the Water” and “Space Truckin’” before turning things over to Lord, who is eventually joined by Blackmore, who throws down and steps on his Strat, tosses it in the air, replaces it with another (out-of-tune) Strat and slips into smoke-machine nirvana.

While we don’t know much about the show’s exact date or venue, we know it was filmed before July 1973, when singer David Coverdale stepped in for Gillan.

The current version of Deep Purple features the same rhythm section seen in the video below — Glover and Paice — plus Mark II’s Gillan on vocals. Dixie Dregs axeman Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey round out the band’s current lineup. Lord, who died last year, retired from the band in 2002. Blackmore quit in 1993.

Now What?! will be released April 30 via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Will 2013 be the year of Deep Purple?

It’s starting to shape up that way. The current version of the band, featuring guitar whiz Steve Morse, are releasing a new studio album in April; they recently posted a mysterious trailer for the upcoming disc.

In terms of archival projects, several of the band’s classic releases will be remastered and reissued this year, including Paris 1975, the band’s last show with Ritchie Blackmore (before his mid-’80s return). You can read more about that project here.

Now it seems there’s an official documentary in the works, and the band have posted a compelling video trailer for the project, which focuses on Deep Purple’s mid-’70s lineup featuring Glenn Hughes and guitarist Tommy Bolin.

This is how the still-untitled documentary is described on the band’s official YouTube page:

“It is well known that the Woodstock and Altamont festivals in the late ’60s were out of control. Bad, brown acid that brought on paralysing bad trips, and a mud bath for a venue that deteriorated into a sewer, are nothing on Deep Purple’s tour of Jakarta in 1975. The band’s visit – the first to the Indonesian capital by a western rock band – began with excitement, intrigue and a tank-led motorcade from the airport, but soon descended into intimidation, reneged contracts, mayhem, riots, guard dogs, sabotage, death and jail. Welcome to Deep Purple’s Jakarta nightmare…..’1975′ is the working title and the treatment for the film is currently being written with various production companies in discussion for the rights to this incredible story.”

Stay tuned for updates.

Legendary rockers Deep Purple have posted a short, sparse clip of music from their upcoming new album, which at the moment only bears a question mark as its title. Watch the teaser video below.

“The title of our new album is still a question mark to all of us,” Ian Gillian said last month. “We have recorded a new album, and it’s a fantastic collection of songs. At the moment that’s the only affirmative point we can offer.”

After being written mainly in Europe, the disc was recorded and mixed in Nashville, Tennessee, with producer Bob Ezrin. Song titles will include “Out Of Hand,” “Hell To Pay,” “Weirdistan,” “Uncommon Man” and “Above And Beyond,” the last of which being a tribute to the band’s longtime keyboard player Jon Lord, who passed away last year.

The follow-up to 2005′s Rapture Of The Deep is due in late April.
