Every Tuesday–the day that new music comes out–we will be listing the hard-rock and metal releases that hit stores, and every Wednesday we will be offering you, the fans, the chance to pick the Album of the Week. Below, check out the albums, EPs, singles, and DVDs that came out this week; pick your favorite, and feel free to vote as many times as you want. Voting ends on Monday, October 15 at noon, when the results will be announced.

Exclusive: Inhale Exhale Premiere New Song, “Carpe Diem”

Inhale Exhale will release their new album, Movement, on October 9. In anticipation, the band is premiering a new song, “Carpe Diem,” right here right now. Check it out below, read what guitarist John LaRussa has to say about the track, and let us know what you think in the comments.

REVOLVER What’s the song about?
JOHN LARUSSA The song is basically about what the album is centered on: moving forward and keeping your head up above all the garbage the world throws at you, making the most from any situation. If it’s something positive, rolling with it and remembering the good from it. If it’s negative, take it and use it to make yourself stronger. We get something out of every experience–it’s up to us what we do with it.

Which part of it did you come up with first? And what was the inspiration?
It was just taking time and jamming, we weren’t trying to make an off the wall song or anything, it almost didn’t get put on the record. It was demoed as a bunch of riffs I was messing with. But we really enjoyed the direction. I think the bridge was wrote first.

Was this an easy song to write or record?
Guitar parts were easy. I mapped those out and it took an hour maybe playing it until we felt good about it. Recording actually went pretty smoothly. Drums first to a scratch track and then listening, doing some changes and then tracking guitars. Pretty standard in this song.

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far?
Feedback has been great. We never planned on releasing it for people to hear besides those who picked up the album. But a lot of people that’ve heard it seem to favor it.

What sort of reaction do you want to get from the song?
So far people get an old-school vibe to it, and the album as a whole. We don’t care, as long as people enjoy it. Lyrically, we hope people take to heart what the song is about and fight for their life, no matter what they go through.
